That was the case when my organization, Interfaith Housing Alliance, opened our first office 16 years ago a few steps from Dr. Richard Rogers' little office on West Patrick Street. I discovered a special dental office. Dr. Rogers and his team always impressed me with their state-of-the-art equipment and one of the highest professional standards I have encountered. My teeth presented him with special challenges and he never failed me. When Dr. Rogers learned more about our work building affordable housing for low income families in our region, he came to our assistance to provide dental services to a volunteer and later, as they grew and moved to larger offices, Dr. Rogers and his staff made generous contributions to our housing mission. Later, I learned that he also does volunteer work for other non profits. I just retired as President of Interfaith Housing and am moving to Florida. I suspect that I will have a hard time replicating Dr. Rogers' dental practice."
